To some people that may seem like no big deal. Prior to completing this dress, though,
I had gone 35.75 years (granted not all of them sewing years) without ever having to make a button hole. I don't know why they were so scary. Maybe it was my defective sewing machines that didn't like me. Who knows. Here is my "bumblebee" dress in all it's buttonholed (6) glory:
Now all I need is a WIDE black belt so I don't look so WEIRD....
I will say that it's got a LOT of ease. I'm finding that to be the case with most patterns even though I'm substantially larger than the patterns...
I've also started on the two piece retro Simplicity number (bottom left)...
I'll post pics of it soon, I promise!

Congrats on the button holes! I feel like you need champagne, streamers, and a lot of confetti! I have yet to get over my fear of button holes or covered zippers so I am really envious! As for finding a belt to go with the dress, Forever 21 should have a lot of yellow this year and their accessories are always amazing.
Yea for you!

Hello! Where did you get that Simplicity 9978 pattern?? I am looking for a pattern for a WWII era nurse's uniform...this is perfect. Any ideas where to look? Thanks!!

Thanks for all the well wishes.
Lara - I bought it when it was new and have had it squirrled away for the longest time. It's OOP, but I bet you could find it on eBay or etsy.
Thank you!! :)

Girl, now that you've conquered button holes, it's time to conquer belt-making! It's not that hard. :-) And, it will be easier than trying to FIND one that matches that gorgeous fabric pattern. :-)
